Normals Welcome is pleased to present Stress Appeal, the debut 12" release from Canadian producer The Paronomasiac (aka label co-founder Nik Kozub). The 4 track single is heavily acid house influenced, with the title track being a driving 808 / 303 / 101 joint which culminates in a buttload of classic old Roland TR series drum machine percussion (727 / 626 / 505). A2 is a bonus beat / DJ tool which is again (this time entirely) made up of Roland drum machine percussion, perfect for injecting some percussive grooves into any other track. The flip side of the record features a deeper house cut with 'You Got Me', a moody groove with a simple cascading Oberheim part, and a 303 bass line doubled with reverbed out bass guitar. 'Niton Junction' on B2 is a stripped down acid cut whose title is inspired by a misspent winter night in Alberta, doing icey spinouts in the parking lot of a small town diner. All 4 tracks are eminently playable, and destined to be a staple at your summer parties.
